Q. How do I sign up for CampusWire?

Q. How much does it cost?

A. We have several different plans to fit your needs. You can always use our free plan, which includes sending 20 text/voice messages a month. You can view other plans here.

CampusWire is a monthly subscription, and you get a fresh set of message credits at the start of every month.

Q. Will I need to buy additional hardware or software for CampusWire?

A. No. CampusWire is completely web based. All you need is a standard web browser like Internet Explorer, Safari or Firefox (all are free downloads) and access to the Internet.

Q. What’s the difference between CampusWire and other message services?

A. CampusWire is the only company at this time offering true voice message notification. You record your message over the phone, and people on your list hear exactly what you’ve said. CampusWire also uses trusted partners who have direct relationships with major mobile phone carriers to keep your text messages from getting blocked as spam. Plus, CampusWire sends out your message simultaneously to everyone in your group―no waiting in long server lines, just fast, reliable delivery.

Q. I’m not a school, can I use CampusWire?

A. Absolutely. Anyone can use CampusWire to notify groups of people through email, voice and text messages. Businesses, sports teams, non-profits and government organizations can all use CampusWire as a fast, reliable message service.

Q. How do I know if my organization has a CampusWire account?

A. Type in the name of your school in the search box on the top of the page.

Q. My organization has a CampusWire account, where do I sign up to receive messages?

A. If your school, business or organization already has an account, you can start receiving messages by searching for their name in the search box on the right side of this page. Click on your organization’s name and follow the signup instructions.

Q. If I cancel my subscription before the end of the month, can I receive a refund?

A. Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds once a new subscription month begins.

Q. How do I cancel my CampusWire account and stop receiving messages?

A. Login to your account here, click Edit My Profile in the menu on the right side of the page, and press the Cancel button at the bottom. You’re done. Administrators can cancel their accounts by logging in here, going to the My Account page and pressing Cancel the Account at the bottom. It’s that easy.

Q. Will my mobile phone company charge me for receiving CampusWire text messages?

A. Your mobile phone company may charge you for the text messages you receive. CampusWire will not be liable for any charges you may receive from your mobile phone company for receiving CampusWire text messages.

Q. Do you ever share my list with anyone?

A. We don’t spam people on your list, and we don’t allow anyone else to do so either. We don’t share your list with anyone not directly related to CampusWire.

Q. Will CampusWire ever send ads to people on my list?

A. Only messages created by you or directly by CampusWire may be delivered to people on your list. No unsolicited messages generated by any third party will be permitted to be distributed via the CampusWire service.

Q. Can you guarantee that my text messages will be delivered?

A. CampusWire cannot guarantee the successful delivery of text messages. However, we work with trusted, third party partners who have direct relationships with the major mobile phone carriers. This gives your messages the best possible chance of delivery without being blocked as spam.

Q. Can you guarantee that my email messages will be delivered?

A. Sending mass email is a complicated process, and there are many reasons for delayed or even failed delivery. We will do our best to make sure this does not happen, but we cannot guarantee delivery of email messages.

Q. Are messages sent through CampusWire secure?

A. No. We do not provide any special encryption for CampusWire messages other than normal email and text message protocol. We do however use the industry standard SSL encryption for all credit card transactions on thecampuswire.com website.

Q. Does CampusWire work with Macs and Linux?

A. Yes. CampusWire is a web based service, so it doesn’t matter what type of computer you’re using. You just need an Internet connection and a standard web browser to send messages.

Q. How often do you back up CampusWire messages and groups?

A. CampusWire is hosted at a secure data center. All CampusWire subscriber messages and lists are backed up daily and stored off site.
